Position Title: LPN

Department: GMC-Aledo Clinic

Purpose: Supports and provides safe, effective, and culturally competent care for clinic patients and families under the supervision of a registered nurse or practitioner. Key accountabilities include assisting the practitioner during procedures; communicating patient data for planning, implementation, and evaluation of care; using critical thinking skills and evidence-based practice; supporting Professional Practice Standards as defined by American Academy of Ambulatory Care Nursing (AAACN); and actively participating in quality monitoring and performance improvement activities.

Report To: Site Supervisor

Supervisory Responsibility: Guidance: The job requires the provision of occasional guidance and training to others. The job does not have formal or official supervisory responsibilities.

Materials Responsibility: Limited: Work requires limited responsibility for material resources. Examples of resources could include supplies, equipment, inventories, small budgets, and other similar material assets. The employee has a limited amount of control over these resources. The cost of errors is also limited in terms of damage, waste or financial loss. Problems associated with material resources are not complex. The volume of resources may vary, but the level of difficulty in dealing with these resources is uncomplicated.

POSITION SPECIFICATION

Education: High school plus additional course work up to 1 year

Field Of Study: Nursing

Special Training: Basic Life Support

Training Preferred: ICD, CPT, Best Practices for Immunizations

Licensure/Registration: Licensed Practical Nurse in Illinois

Experience: Less than 1 year experience required.

Interpersonal Skills: Interaction is with a variety of people inside or outside the organization. Communications are often difficult or stressful in nature. Contact with others involves complex, detailed and often sensitive topics. The job requires a high degree of interpersonal skills to deal with a range of complicated problem situations. Interactions involve gaining the agreement of others.

Working Conditions: There is limited exposure to moderately adverse and undesirable environmental conditions. There are some health and safety risks. Position may require safety equipment and precautions. The amount of time the employee may experience these moderate conditions is limited to 35% or less of their work day.

Pay Range: $20.53 - $30.80 per hour

Actual compensation will fall within the range but may vary based on factors such as experience, qualifications, education, location, licensure, certification requirements, and comparisons to colleagues in similar roles.
