Qualifications:
Must meet Civil Service Requirements - Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and additional experience and knowledge in particular field where specialized duties are involved. 18 years or older; fingerprint clearance required.
Responsibilities/Duties:
Provides targeted, 1:1 academic and behavioral support to a student with specialized needs;
Provides assistance with transitions and accompanies student in the hallways, to special area classes, and in the cafeteria;
Delivers refocusing prompts, and helps with the execution of classroom routines and work skill development;
Monitors behavioral goals and task completion;
Collects data relative to students' behavior support plans;
Flexibility in completing daily tasks, experience in the use of technology, communications, and information systems to support student learning; and
Other duties as assigned by the building principal and supervising teacher..
