This position will be open to internal and external applicants and will close on Friday, March 31, 2023.
This position pays between $74,880.00 to $93,600.00 and is based on skills, experience and education of the successful candidate.
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
Experience in preparation of cashflow, income statement and balance sheet
The Senior Accountant is responsible for accounting and reporting functions, including, but not limited to: journal entries, account reconciliations, reporting, budget and forecasting, audit requests, account analysis and special projects as needed, with increasing complexity and with a higher level of contribution.

Key External: Regulatory Commissions, external auditors
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepare, peer review and train others on complex journal entries
Reconcile and maintain general ledger accounts
Prepare, peer review and train others on reports filed with regulatory agencies
Coordinate month-end closeout responsibilities with outside departments
Prepare complex account analysis and research account variances
Prepare, peer review and train others on budgets and forecasts
Create ad hoc reports and lead special projects
Independently handles data requests
Required: Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Accounting or financial-related field. A Master’s Degree in Accounting or financial-related field may be considered in lieu of direct/related experience (see below).
Required: Depending upon position and/or geographic location, may be required to possess a valid
driver’s license and meet the acceptable driving requirements of the Company.
Preferred: CPA preferred
Required: Minimum of 5 years of financial work experience. With a Master’s Degree in Accounting or financial-related field, the minimum experience requirement is 3 years of financial work experience.
Preferred: Five or more years of financial work experience with regulated utility accounting experience
Required: Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP ; Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office with a focus on Microsoft Excel; Self-motivated and detail oriented with advanced analytical and organizational skills; Works independently with little to no supervision and performs well in a deadline driven environment; The ability to professionally engage with senior leadership and internal/external constituents on a frequent basis; Demonstrates good judgement, leadership within the finance group and executes process improvements.
Preferred: Proficiency with software/systems such as SAP, Power Plan, Quorum, Banner, Oracle or related software.
