ASRC Federal Holding Company Operations Engineer - Electrical in Albuquerque, New Mexico

ASRC Federal NetCentric Technology, LLC is seeking an Operations Engineer – Electrical Discipline to support ongoing activities on our KEOS contract at Kirtland AFB in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Job Summary:

The Operations Engineer – Electrical Discipline will support mission critical sustainment activities to ensure effective and efficient operation of US-owned and occupied facilities associated installed equipment and infrastructure to serve the needs of the organization to help ensure the mission success of Kirtland AFB. This includes the maintenance of all infrastructure, engineering support, and generator services.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform specific duties and responsibilities related to Electrical engineering including evaluating electrical systems, products, components, and applications.

  • Review AF Requirements & Optimizations (R&O) playbook for project initiations and development of maintenance requirements.

  • Perform inspections on completed project work along with equipment installations capturing Real Property data.

  • Provides efficient, effective, and timely electrical engineering expertise, to include but not limited to determining electrical loads, generator sizing, and interior electrical design.

  • Ability to interpret construction/engineering contract drawings and specifications to ensure all construction meets initial design and specifications.

  • Provides the scope definition, specification, studies, budgeting, and write-up into project proposals of mechanical engineering projects and prepares initial government cost estimates (IGCEs) for small projects.

  • Ability to create and maintain preventive maintenance schedules for all Real Property Installed Equipment (RPIE).

  • Ability to evaluate, analyze, and interpret sustainment management data to identify project needs and recommend courses of action.

  • Performs physical activities including climbing in and around equipment, crawling, and working outdoors.

  • Consult and coordinate with electrical, structural, and civil engineers during the design phase to ensure a proper mechanical layout.

  • Supports/works with project design teams consisting of architects, engineers, and Customer's technical staff.

  • Provides technical support to Programmers and Cost Estimators.

  • Conducts technical review of Military Construction (MILCON), Unspecified Minor Military Construction (UMMC), Facility Sustainment Restoration and Modernization (FSRM), Facility Projects, and Architect-Engineer designers' plans and specifications.

  • Performs root case analyses on systems failing prematurely or systemically.

  • Reviews AF Form 332 Work Request submissions for validity of scope and practicality of work in-house.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from a program certified by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET).

  • Be able to identify common site architectural, civil, mechanical, electrical, and fire protection/detection system components, and understand how they function/operate.

  • Have experience planning or performing facility maintenance, improvements, or repairs.

  • Experience and aptitude using Microsoft Office applications.

  • Must maintain a valid US driver's license.

  • Have ability to perform repetitive physical tasks involving lifting at least 50 lbs.

  • Be committed to providing for and maintaining a safe working environment.

  • Must be able to pass a drug screen.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a secret clearance.

Desired Qualifications:

  • At least three years’ experience working in a military environment and familiarity with US Air Force Civil Engineering guidance, rules, and regulations.

  • Knowledge of construction management software, project closeout procedures, preventive maintenance, construction and repair terminology and processes.

  • At least of one year of experience performing facility assessments and Real Property Inventory Equipment (RPIE) condition assessments.

  • At least one year of experience working with data from geospatial databases.

  • Basic familiarity with current US Air Force Real Property and linear segmentation guidance.

  • Possess applicable building code and life safety knowledge to provide assessment services.
