Bridgers & Paxton Consulting Engineers, Inc. Experienced Electrical Engineer in Albuquerque, New Mexico

We have an exciting opportunity for multiple experienced Electrical Engineers to join our government group in Albuquerque. The primary focus of this position is to support active contracts with local national laboratories within New Mexico. Successful candidates must be capable of obtaining and maintaining a security clearance. 

In this position, the ideal candidate performs electrical design and engineering, equipment selection, receptacle, lighting, power, security, and telecommunications plan layouts, details, and developing one-line diagrams, developing calculations, specification writing, cost estimating, coordination with other consultants and team members, and client interaction. This position involves working on several projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. Some local and state travel will be required to perform field investigations, coordinate design requirements, and to build client relations.

We look for the following ideal qualifications:

  • Minimum four year college degree from an accredited engineering program

  • Minimum of 5 years of electrical engineering experience within a consulting or design-build firm

  • Professional Licensed Electrical Engineer is a plus

  • Self-motivated with the ability to develop approaches to projects independently, and perform detailed execution of electrical design

  • Communicates well verbally, in writing, and graphically, with other engineers, clients, and code authorities

  • Project management skills

  • Excellent problem-solving skills

  • Strong personal ambition and work ethic

  • Strong working knowledge of various building, electrical and energy conservation codes

  • Strong working knowledge of the NFPA and other industry related standards

  • Strong personal ambition to be a team player and provide guidance and mentoring to less experienced designer/engineers

  • Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, SKM PTW and/or other design related software
