POSITION SUMMARY

This position is a key operational leader for CVI where, in this role, the CI Manager will be responsible for leading, planning, developing, directing and coordinating the facilities continuous improvement strategy, which includes deployment, training and mentoring of the IDEX Operating Model and Continuous Improvement integration.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work with assigned functional leaders/Value Stream managers to establish priorities in-line with Goal Deployment priorities.

  • Drive the development of manufacturing strategies, flow optimization for the facility

  • Drive core functional excellence through implementing: IDEX Operating Model, Lean, Six Sigma, and other world-class operations management techniques

  • Coordinate operational metric reviews for management and monitoring of balanced scorecard performance and actions on monthly basis

  • Support Root Cause Counter Measure Process to support Monthly Business Review within the Operating Model

  • Lead or facilitate projects or events such as Rapid Improvement Events (RIEs), Value Stream Map (VSM) process, Continuous Flow, Standardization 5S+, Error Proofing, Eliminating Waste, TPM, Pull System, etc.

  • Provide cost effective manufacturing processes for new product introductions for CVI

  • Drive standardization on industrialization standard documentations (Process flow charts, Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFEMA) activities, and work instructions.

  • Engage the Business Units, Design Engineering, Operations and other Engineering  functions to ensure the effective and on-time launch into Manufacturing within budget with the highest levels of product quality

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited educational institution

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in manufacturing, operations, or continuous improvement at a best-in-class industrial/manufacturing organization

  • Minimum 2 years of leadership experience and managing others

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Ability to demonstrate knowledge of continuous improvement methods, approaches and tools, including strategic management and project management

  • Ability to demonstrate organizational savvy, motivate and influence matrix teams/resources

  • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels, tailoring the content and style to the audience as appropriate

  • Ability to demonstrate a global perspective

  • Ability to teach, coach and mentor

PREFERRED CRITERIA

  • Experience with mechanical, electrical and/or automation engineering

  • Engineered to Order (ETO)/Configure to Order product experience strongly preferred

  • JD Edwards/Oracle/SAP (Enterprise Resource Planning) experience

  • Experience with Design for Manufacturing, Assembly

  • Experience with Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing methodology, tool proficiency and problem-solving tools. Six Sigma Black Belt preferred.

  • Experience with developing and implementing manufacturing processes

  • Experience with the 80/20 Principle/Methodology

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND TRAVEL:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.

  • Must be able to access and navigate each department at the business unit’s facilities.

  • Must be able to travel locally by car or plane. Position may occasionally require up to 5% to 10% of out of town/overnight travel.
