What Your Job Will Be Like:
We are seeking a R&D Computer Engineer/Scientist to conduct research and development for applications that will perform complex calculations in support of national security programs. On any given day, you may be called on to:
Develop software and test cases for automated testing..
Partner with architects, developers, technical leads, customers, and end users to collect requirements, develop vision, design solutions, and deliver high quality and easy-to-use software applications.
Document project progress to partners.
Develop reports.

The selected applicant can work a combination of onsite and offsite work. The selected applicant must live within a reasonable distance for commuting to the assigned work location when necessary.
Salary Range:
$95,400 - $185,700
*Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.
Qualifications We Require:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or relevant field
Experience with:
software development and modern software development practices and tools
full software development life cycle using an agile method
web-based application development with HTML5, JavaScript and .Net(VB or C#)
The ability to acquire and maintain a DOE Q clearance
Qualifications We Desire:
Degree(s) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Software Engineering
A strong analytical background, either through work experience or formal education
Experience with large, complex scientific and technical application development in a configuration-controlled environment
Programming skills in MVC, Angular
Experience working in a manufacturing environment
Experience in software design, software architecture, and software refactoring
Experience with graphical user interface (GUI) development
Experience with information assurance policies and practices
Strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively on multi-disciplinary development teams
About Our Team:
Sandia National Laboratories Microsystems and Engineering Sciences Applications (MESA) complex provides outstanding processing capability in semiconductor microfabrication. The MESA Fab facility is subdivided into 2 areas:
- 12,500 sq. ft., class 1 cleanroom silicon wafer fab that produces radiation hardened CMOS integrated circuit technology and micro-electromechanical (MEMs) devices2. 16,600 sq. ft., class 10 cleanroom fabrication area that produces compound semiconductor circuits and devices and back-end of line metallization and packaging
Department 05284, Computer Integrated Manufacturing (CIM) supports the programming, security and computing needs of MESA .
Posting Duration:

Position Information:
This Limited Term Employee (LTE) position is a temporary position for one year term, which may be renewed at Sandia's discretion up to a maximum of seven years.
Individuals in LTE positions may bid on regular Sandia positions as internal candidates, and in some cases may be converted to regular career positions during their term if warranted by ongoing operational needs, continuing availability of funds, and satisfactory job performance.
