Job Description:

Description of Duties:

  • Lead the development, enhancement, maintenance, debugging, and testing of ITSMR's custom- built Drug Recognition Expert applications.
  • Provide advanced technical support to end-users, troubleshoot complex technical issues, and ensure system reliability.
  • Administer and optimize the Atlassian/JIRA platform for project management and workflow efficiency.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and maintain scalable solutions.
  • Lead code reviews, design discussions, and guide the team in adopting best practices.
  • Create and maintain detailed technical documentation, reports, and user manuals.

This is an onsite position located in Albany, NY with up to 50% alternative workplace arrangement (Hybrid) with supervisor approval after a probationary period.

Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently lead projects from concept to deployment.
  • Experience with the following technologies:
    • JavaScript (ES6+)
    • Java frameworks (e.g., Spring, Hibernate, Maven)
    • SQL 
    • RESTful API development 
    • HTML5 and CSS
  • Experience in:
    • Version control systems (e.g., Git, SVN)
    • CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work with culturally diverse teams.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work on-site in Albany, NY, at least 50% of the time.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience building mobile applications (preferably with Cordova, Ionic).
  • Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks (e.g., Vue, React, or Angular).
  • Experience with Spring Boot.
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies like Kubernetes, OpenShift, Docker, and Docker Compose.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
  • Experience working in Linux environments.
  • Experience with Tomcat.
  • Experience with microservices architecture.
  • Experience writing unit tests (e.g., Jest, JUnit).
  • Experience with Python.
  • Familiarity with security best practices in software development, including secure coding, authentication, and data protection.
  • Proven ability to work autonomously, own projects, and deliver results with minimal supervision.
  • Experience with MYSQL

Additional Information:

Salary Range: $95,000-$115,000

This is an onsite position located in Albany, NY with up to 50% alternative workplace arrangement (Hybrid) with supervisor approval after a probationary period.
