Minimum Qualifications Six (6) years of experience in public relations, social media, and digital communications. Associate’s, bachelor’s, or master’s degree in Communications, English, Public Relations, Social Media, Digital Communications, or similar degree, substitutes for two, four, or five years of experience.Preference may be given to candidates that possess:Excellent writing, speaking, presentation and interpersonal communication skills.Related experience working in communications, public relations, or media, including experience with social media platforms.Ability to work quickly and accurately under deadline pressure.Strong computer skills, experience with Microsoft Office suite.Demonstrated experience with various social media platforms.Experience shooting and editing photographs and video.
Duties Description Participate in social media, branding, and social media design activities for New York State Police Recruitment.Develop content for social media platforms, website, and other print/digital publications related to programs and activities of the State Police and ensure compliance with State and Agency guidelines, policies, and protocols.Draft and edit a variety of written and digital materials and prepare the final copy.Manage and grow agency social media channels to further build the State Police Recruitment branding.Assist in setting goals for the agency’s recruitment website and social media channels and develop data analytic reports for senior staff.Participate in social media meetings and project team meetings as required.Assist in making edits to the State Police Recruitment website.Assist with the creation of content for social media, which may include shooting and editing photographs and video. Work with Troops and Public Information Office to develop content for announcements and events that support the agency’s recruitment mission.Partnering with the digital video production unit to produce and edit various recruitment and advertising videos. Assist the Recruitment office with other duties, publications and social media postings as requested by the Captain - Office of Recruitment and Member Hiring.Occasional travel throughout New York State.
