Layout Technician Albany, NY 12205

Due to continued growth, we are looking to add and entry-level Layout Technician to our team in Albany, NY. A layout technician uses engineering drawings to develop and maintain production parts. You will inspect items, perform calibrations and generate shop drawings. You will be responsible for documenting and archiving all files related to the design.

Job Responsibilities:

• Obtain a complete understanding of contract documents and scope

• Create material submittals

• AutoCAD/HydroCAD layout code compliant systems for submittal

• Attend project/coordination meetings and implement into design

• Produce fabrication and loose material lists

• Perform subcontractor and equipment buyout

• Supervise project foreman

• Forward requisition breakdowns to billing department

• Manage contract changes or discrepancies

• Communicate with GC, CM, Owner, Insurance underwriter and AHJ to achieve system acceptance

• Modify field drawings to reflect as-built conditions for project closeout

  Qualifications and/or Requirements:

• Basic AutoCAD

• NICET certification a plus

• Hydracad experience a plus

• Microsoft Office

• Professional team player with effective communication skills

  Qualifications/Skills:

• Good planning and problem-solving skills

• Good math skills

• Able to understand big picture issues

• Good communication, written, verbal, interpersonal, and analytical skills

• Professional and detail oriented. File organization skills.

• Good with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook

• Reliable with ability to complete tasks within deadlines and communicate results back to the team

• Possess a progressive, positive attitude

• Ability to work as part of a team to achieve the Company’s overall goals

  Hourly Wage Range: $17-$22/hour
