CTG Equipment Engineering in Albany, New York
CTG is seeking to fill an Equipment Engineering opening for our client in Albany, NY.

Duties:
Work with equipment vendors to review semiconductor equipment and lab instrument (“tool”) documentation, including tool manuals, facility data tables, design drawings, SEMI reports, and similar tool requirement documents.
Evaluate tool documentation for completeness and accuracy, document issues, and publish actionable requests to vendors. Resolve open issues and validate solutions with appropriate authorities as necessary.
Interpret tool requirements for new or upgraded installations in Albany NanoTech fabs and labs. Apply critical design thinking to prepare methods and approaches to safely and comprehensively satisfy all tool requirements. Translate tool requirements into facility requirements.
Prepare facility data tables (Cutsheet), in MS Excel format, outlining facility requirements for tool installations or upgrades. This includes architectural, structural, mechanical wet & dry, process, electrical, controls, and life safety requirements.
Collaborate with site authorities (facilities, EHS), multiple suppliers, vendors, contractors, and co-workers to complete activities essential for tool install or upgrade designs.
Engage with design contractors during the preparation of tool install design bid documents, ensuring on-time delivery of accurate and complete designs, including detailed reviews of design packages (e.g., P&ID) and TGMS Matrix logic tables.
Respond to construction contractors' requests for information and suggestions, ensuring timely resolution and limited design plan revisions.
Administer the flow and record-keeping of data fundamental to the design phase of each tool.
Provide regular status and progress reports to the design lead.
Generate facility installation estimates for capital purchases.
Skills:
Strong proficiency in reviewing and interpreting semiconductor equipment tool documentation.
Expertise in preparing facility data tables (Cutsheet) including architectural, mechanical, electrical, and safety requirements.
Knowledge of equipment installation and upgrade processes in semiconductor environments.
Excellent collaboration and communication skills for working with multiple stakeholders, including vendors, contractors, and internal teams.
Experience in generating facility installation estimates for capital projects.
Experience:
Minimum 5 years of experience designing semiconductor equipment tool installs and interpreting equipment requirements.
At least 3 years of experience in each of at least 3 engineering disciplines (mechanical, electrical, process, I&C, structural, safety/LSS) directly relevant to facility infrastructure & systems.
Minimum of 1 year of experience in facility design, working with design contractors and managing design packages (P&ID, TGMS Matrix).
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.
