Here, you can make an impact and make a difference. Come join us. Huntsman is seeking a Skilled Chemical Operator supporting the Advanced Materials Division located in Akron, OH. This position will report to the Production Manager. In summary, as the Skilled Chemical Operator, you will: Must have a high regard for safety, quality, and the environment. Performs necessary work in operating, controlling, adjusting, and regulating temperatures, pressures, levels, flow rates and other operating variables to produce quality and on-spec products. Operates and understands the function of many types of chemical manufacturing equipment such as weigh tanks, reactors, distillation equipment, pumps and other specialized equipment. A strong mechanical aptitude and some chemistry knowledge is required to ensure selected individual understands not only how to run a process, but how equipment and chemicals work together. Maintains good housekeeping habits to ensure the cleanliness, neatness, and order of work area and equipment. Troubleshoots processing problems and takes corrective action when possible. Seeks assistance when necessary. Other general responsibilities: Follows instructions and performs other duties as may be assigned by supervisor. Assists other employees in accomplishment of Huntsman company goals. Participates in and completes company-required training programs. Participates in Environmental, Health, & Safety initiatives as set forth by the company. Qualifications You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. The candidate must have an unrestricted right to work for Huntsman in the United States. Minimum Qualifications High School diploma or equivalent required. Associate's degree or college experience is a plus. Chemical manufacturing education and/or experience desired. A willingness to work a continuous 7-day schedule with rotating days off on any of the three shifts and readily accept overtime without restriction. Excellent verbal communication skills. The ability to work in a physical, industrial environment Tow motor operator experience desired Tractor/trailer operator experience desired The ability to lift 60 lbs repetitively, climb multiple levels of stairs, walk, stand for prolonged periods, stoop, kneel, bend, reach above head and work both inside and outside without restrictions.
