About the Position

The Human Resources Business Partner - Global Operations will help create and support strategies for key human resource (HR) and business initiatives - Focusing on talent/succession planning, leadership development, building competencies/capabilities, proactive employee engagement and helping share an inspiring culture that will help to achieve the business goals for the client groups this incumbent supports.

This position will partner with global senior leaders (and their teams) and HR peers across the Global Operations and Technology (GOT) business, to provide innovative solutions to facilitate stronger operations and business results. They will offer thought leadership and execute talent management strategies around competency/organizational capability - Building talent development and retention strategies for our associates. This role will also align with regional counterpart teams on talent strategies and organizational development plans, as well as other people and business issues/challenges.

This is primarily an onsite role (3 to 4 days per week) in Akron, Ohio.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Provide HR consultant services to the Global Operation functions (as assigned).

  • Lead recruitment, talent management, talent development, performance management, succession planning and other key HR activities (as required).

  • Interface with the global leadership team and local leadership teams to develop sound HR processes/systems and ensure that the same is performed and implemented in the One Goodyear Way.

  • Execute staffing and people moves through proactive workforce planning and iterative succession discussions.

  • Establish/Maintain healthy selection and on-boarding processes.

  • Clarify organizational needs and translate them into appropriate HR actions and solutions, by leveraging best-practices.

  • Facilitate talent/organizational capability for assigned Global Operations functions through meaningful talent management programs and engagement activities.

  • Identify/Develop a capability and talent pipeline through strategic talent acquisition, competency building/development programs, succession planning, coaching, and learning initiatives.

  • Coach/Counsel leaders on engagement action planning and retention strategies.

  • Interface with the global/local leadership teams to facilitate and execute HR processes/systems and ensure that the same is performed and implemented in the One Goodyear Way.

  • Support and drive staffing and people moves through proactive workforce planning and iterative succession discussions.

  • Establish/Maintain healthy selection and on-boarding processes.

  • Clarify organizational needs and translate them into appropriate HR actions and solutions, by leveraging best-practices and internal/external benchmarking.

  • Provide client group support to other functions not assigned (as necessary).

  • Represent the GOT organization on enterprise initiatives.

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Education, Human Resources, Operations Management or Psychology, required.

  • Master’s degree in business, Education, Human Resources, Operations Management or Psychology, desired.

  • 5+ years of experience in Human Resources or People Management, required.

  • Experience with leading projects across organizations/regions.

  • Experience working with several different audiences - Communicating efficiently and knowing your audience.

  • Experience investigating, analyzing and solving a myriad of complex associate relations issues.

Skills and Abilities

  • Strong functional knowledge of HR practices, EEO (equal employment opportunity) compliance and affirmative action plans.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written/verbal).

  • Global mindset awareness to communicate and partner regionally.

  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.

  • Strong computer and Microsoft Office Suite skills.
