Responsible for safely logging timber contracts and working up timber to meet company specifications.
Responsibilities
- Safely cutting, skidding and bucking marked timber.
- Working up logs on the yard as directed.
- Attend monthly safety trainings.
- Routine maintenance on equipment.
- Performs related work as required as directed by their supervisor.

Education/Training High school diploma preferred, some college would be a plus. Eligible to be considered as a logger after at least one year as a skidder operator during which time they must complete all phases of state provided skidder training. May begin logging under the direction of a senior logger. Must complete Cutting 1 training as soon as possible. Will not be allowed to cut unsupervised until fully vetted by a senior logger and approved by the company president. Must complete all phases of state provided cutter training in a timely manner. Logger, skidder and BMP trainings must be updated at least every 2 years Experience None. Certifications/Licenses Drivers License Physical Requirements for Work Comp Light Duty
- Be able to walk over hilly, rough terrain for an entire day (8+ hours).
- Be able to climb, squat, stoop and twist to maneuver through the woods and obstacles such as downed trees.
- Be able to push or pull logs or other debris out of way.
- Be able to drive for 5 or more hours.
- Be able to lift and carry 40 pounds.
