Eaton Corporation EHS Manager in Aguascalientes, Mexico
Eaton’s IS VEH VGNA division is currently seeking a EHS Manager.
What you’ll do:
A. Participates as a key member of plant manager’s staff in all critical decisions impacting facility.
A. Develop and implement programs to utilize the elements of EBS to achieve strategic goals
of the plant, and profit plan objectives of the plant.
B. Facilitates process and provides technical and administrative leadership to ensure
compliance with EHS&S regulations and MESH requirements.
C. Chooses fiscally and socially responsible methods and processes of managing natural
resources and waste.
D. Continuously identifies, assesses, and reduces/eliminates EHS risk (including security).
E. Continuously deploys methods of reducing the environmental footprint.
F. Establishes and maintains relationships with governmental authorities on matters of mutual
concern including voluntary certification, maintenance of environmental permits, submission
of required reports, and maintenance of data.
G. Directs and/or supports development and deployment of EHS management systems (e.g.,
ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 registration, VPP, Industria Limpia, etc.) as appropriate.
H. Complies with Eaton’s ethics policy and keeps management informed of issues associated
with regulatory compliance.
I. Provides for timely EHS training of employees.
J. Investigates incidents (including near misses, releases, and losses) and accidents to
determine root causes and prepares/directs corrective action plans.
K. Integrates and supports Corporate, Group, and Regional EHS&S initiatives designed to drive
best practices across Eaton.
L. Initiates opportunities to improve environmental conditions in the community as well as
fostering employee wellness and off-the-job safety.
M. Plans to deal with emergency situations that could adversely impact the environment,
employees, or the community.
N. Directs development, maintenance, and achievement of strategic initiatives designed to
produce verifiable world-class performance.
O. Encourages employee involvement in EHS activities.
P. Primary communicator of EHS messages to employees and management.
Q. Promotes the company’s mission and vision by actively supporting Eaton’s ethics and values
as well as quality policies.
R. Motivate and coach employees to maintain high levels of satisfaction, productivity, and quality
through effectively utilizing available rewards and recognition channels to encourage and
promote desired behaviors and results

Qualifications:
A. University degree required, with qualification in occupational safety, industrial hygiene, environmental
discipline or equivalent. Relevant advanced degree preferred professional certification preferred
(Certified Safety Professional, Certified Industrial Hygienist, Certified Hazardous Materials Manager,
or country equivalent).
B. English – language capability, speaking, reading & writing required
C. 7 – 10 years experience with an emphasis in environmental, health and safety program management
and employee training. Experience with security operations is a plus
D. Comprehension of Eaton, industry, state, and country environmental, health, and safety requirements.
E. High level of interpersonal skill to work effectively with others
F. Strong leadership skills, must be capable of leading their organization on a continuous journey of
sustained improvement, including ability to manage large number of disparate projects and to track
projects throught completion.
G. Through knowledge of industrial chemistry and waste control/elimination technology and practices
H. Adept at development and utilization of software solutions
I. Understanding of manufacturing technologies and processes
J. Ability to lead and support cross-functional process improvement team
Skills:
A. This position requires some travel.
B. It requires the use management skills, act as a liaison for associates at all levels.
C. Support continuous improvement efforts to meet and exceed customer requirements in a fast paced
environment.
D. Participate and assist in meeting all plant Environmental Health and Safety objectives.
E. Establish a timely response for corrective actions to help drive continuous improvement through the
Environmental Management Program.
F. Utilizing the prolaunch process, Direct the transfer, start-up and development of new technologies or
new processes; promotes and applies the continuous improvement.
G. Develop and implement positive employee relations (Eaton Philosophy) to encourage employee
involvement and to create an environment in which employees see no need for third party intervention.
