Honeywell Software Engineer II in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico
As a Software Engineer II here at Honeywell, you will be accountable for developing and maintaining software applications for our Aerospace Technologies (AT) business. You will work on cutting-edge technologies and work with a team of talented engineers to deliver high-quality software solutions.
You will report directly to our Software Engineering Manager, and you'll work out of our Aguadilla, Puerto Rico location.
In this role, you will have a direct impact on the development of software solutions that are used in commercial, defense, and space aircraft around the world. You will contribute to the design, coding, testing, and debugging of software applications, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality and performance.
Be part of a team that designs, develops and integrates highly complex software functions within Honeywell Aerospace’s Verification & Validation Center of Excellence. You will be an active and integral member of a team to achieve the completion of goals. You will also generate innovative solutions in work situations, trying different and novel ways to deal with problems and opportunities.

Travel, up to 25% to the US and/ or internationally may be required.

YOU MUST HAVE
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics
2+ years of experience in Software/Requirement testing
2+ years of embedded real-time software development experience
2+ years of development experience in C/C++ and Python
Must be able to read, write and speak English
WE VALUE
Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, aerospace engineering, electrical engineering, or computer science
Understanding of software requirements of varying complexity
Hardware and software debug with lab equipment (Oscilloscope, Logic Analyzer, etc…)
Hands on experience in Multicore Processor and good understanding of processor architecture
Experience in avionics software/systems/software verification
Experience in development of application/driver for protocols like Arinc429, RS232, RS422, MIL-STD-1553
Demonstrate good working knowledge on DO178B/C certification
Technical skills with emphasis in the areas of software development and verification processes, certification, and DO-178 design assurance guidelines
Understanding of software verification methods and tools currently in use as well as versed in industry standards and direction
Understanding various software development lifecycle
Knowledge of software configuration management and change management practices
Diverse and global teaming and collaboration
Effective communicator
Wide degree of creativity
Individuals who are self-motivated and able to work with little supervision, who consistently take the initiative to get things done, do things before being asked by others or forced to by events
