The Wean to Finish Supervisor will be responsible for leading and training the team that oversees the welfare, care and day to day management of swine production. The position requires exceptional production through the implementation of standard operating procedures, maintenance of accurate records, effective contract grower communication and team member training. Roles and Responsibilities: Supervise wean to finish swine production Manage feed, health and marketing of pigs Supervise and train employees Promote safe work habits Commit to regular communication and attend appropriate team planning activities Communicate with office team concerning all pig movements, sales, bill approvals and other administrative tasks Effectively communicate with Son-D-Farms management Perform minor maintenance and repairs Provide input into the evaluation and improvement of the production system. Implement best management practices for environmental stewardship Strive to maintain positive community relations Provide comprehensive support for contract growers Provide training for new contract growers Commit to consistent grower communication and farm visits to provide ongoing support, to evaluate the performance of the pigs and the facility, and to ensure standardized day to day management procedures are being carried out Utilize all available technical resources within the team to enhance grower performance Communicate pig flow with all parties. Supervise pig sales Conduct audits of facility and grower with each turn Be available to answer grower questions and concerns Be certain all growers achieve and maintain PQA certification Ability to work independently and problem solve to accomplish barn tasks Other tasks as requested
