Job Title : Technical Spares Parts Manager

Level : L6

Report to : Engineering & Asset Care Manager

Location : Achimota / Accra

Context/Scope:

GGBPLC operates from two sites in five drinks categories: Stout, Lager, RTD, Non-alcoholic Malt and Mainstream spirits, as well as the distribution of Spirits.

Growth in the Ghana economy is estimated to continue at mid to high single digit in a competitive environment.

Consumers and customers in this region expect products of the highest quality. There is also growing middle classes who are likely to experiment with new products.

GGBPLC is undertaking significant change process, principally in the areas of accountability, quality maintenance practices, supply planning, cost reduction and efficiency. As the Supply function we will produce quality products in a safe environment at competitive costs, on time and in full with no errors.

Purpose of the role :

Manage the Engineering Stores to ensure that stock levels are maintained and provide information to area engineers to control inventory.

Manage the Workshop to ensure that adequate support is rendered to the Site’s operations.

Top Accountabilities :

  • Commit to Occupational Health and Safety standards. Frequently state and articulate that Safety is our No.1 priority. Be visible as an ambassador for safety by behaving in a safe manner at all times and always challenging unsafe practices and behaviour of others, reprimanding where appropriate. Adhere strictly to the site safety rules and systems and equipment operational procedures.

  • Ensure that fuel stocks are controlled to support production.

  • Compiles list of obsolete stocks and ensures they are written off

  • Work with the relevant Area Engineers to ensure requisite and optimum spares are held in stock

  • Ensure that all stocks in the Stores are kept safely and stored under their desired conditions

  • Ensure all stock items are appropriately identified in SAP..

  • Preparing goods receive notes for suppliers after being satisfied that the goods are of right quality and quantity.

Qualifications and Experience :

  • Graduate Mechanical Engineer or its equivalent

  • HND in Mechanical Engineering

  • Minimum of 3 years experience in a similar job

  • Experience in Computerized Maintenance Management System essential.

  • Administrative / Budget management skills

  • Stores management skills

  • Computer literacy

  • Resource management Skills

  • People management & motivational skills

  • Networking/influencing /communication skills

  • Lack of understanding of the commercial and Demand agenda within the business.

  • Inability to demonstrate key leadership qualities
