Based out of the Electrical Division Edmonton (EDE) location, the Lead Inventory Control - Shipping & Receiving responsibilities include overseeing inventory control, managing deliveries, inspecting inventory, maintaining inventory records, and ordering products.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Give direction to all hourly employees in the department.

• Organize/Prioritize daily workflow to meet delivery dates.

• Mentor/Facilitate Safety Squad/Safety Program Activities.

• Coordinate inventory functions, such as fulfilling kit requests.

• Coordinate receiving functions, such as checking material and receiving into inventory.

• Coordinate shipping functions, such as packing shipments and creating shipping documents.

Minimum Qualifications

• A minimum education level of a High School Diploma or General Education Diploma is required.

• Minimum 1-3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, previous leadership role is considered an asset.

• Previous experience in Receiving, Stockroom, Inventory Management and/or Shipping is considered an asset.

Skills, Abilities & Other Requirements

  • Demonstrates integrity and ethical decision making.

  • Proficient in daily & regular cycle counting and advanced inventory processes

  • Self-motivated team player who can also work independently and with minimal direction

  • Work with management to identify areas of improvement in storage and ordering practices

  • Demonstrated ability to conduct thorough inventory discrepancy investigation & deployment to identify source(s) of discrepancy and recommend resolution initiatives.

  • Ability to use advanced Excel formulae – VlookUp, Pivot Table and basic computation

  • A great deal of attention to details

  • Ability to meet agreed deadlines and proactively communicate obstacles to meeting the deadlines.

  • Embraces continuous improvement initiatives – challenges status quo and probing why things are done the way they are done

  • Must be able to track and verify shipment

  • Must be able to anticipate the impact of picking and put-aways (storing) on inventory accuracy and suggest preventive measures

  • Willingness to learn from and share knowledge with colleagues – a team player

  • Basic computer knowledge, previous experience with Oracle is considered an asset.

  • Effectively demonstrates on-time delivery and the ability to stay focused on goals and responsibilities.

  • Believes and displays through actions that our customers represent our current success and remain vital to our future growth.

  • Conscientious, thorough, accurate, and reliable when performing and completing job tasks.

  • Must have a basic command of the English language, both written and verbal.

  • Forklift and Overhead crane is asset

Working & Environmental Conditions

Warehouse environment – loading and unloading indoors or outdoors

Sitting, twisting

Frequent walking, standing, handling

Occasionally crouching, stooping

Operating warehouse material handling equipment

Physical Requirements

Pushing/pulling (100 lbs.)

Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach and move about the facility.

Lifting/carrying (50 lbs.)
