JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS: The Mental Health Counselor is responsible for the assessment and provision of clinical services; provides screening/triage services for University clients, individual psychotherapy, group psychotherapy, urgent evaluation and intervention, and outreach and/consultation services to those in need.

Provide individual and group counseling to clients according to individualized treatment plans; complete triage and crisis appointments as needed

Assess and provide case management services and attend to any referral clients

Utilize an array of treatment approaches to meet individual or group needs (i.e. cognitive behavioral therapy, relaxation training, and motivational interviewing)

Work within a collaborative team approach as a community mental health center across the University to participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, case consultation meetings, and case coordination meetings with clinical or medical staff

Develop, plan, and deliver outreach activities pertaining to wellness initiatives

Create and maintain accurate clinical records and documentation

Provide appropriate disposition including on and off campus referrals and collaborate with psychiatric and health care providers as indicated

Engage in ongoing professional development opportunities to maintain licensure and engage in community and campus outreach

May provide clinical supervision to non-licensed trainees

Minimum Qualifications

Master's degree in psychology, counseling, or social work.

3+ years of experience.

Licensed or license-eligible in Pennsylvania (LPC, LSW, LCSW).

Experience counseling in a clinical setting.

Evidence of cultural competency, advocacy, and commitment to serving diverse populations.

Must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively and collaboratively.

Ability to meet consistent attendance and demonstrate dependable work habits.

Successfully complete clearances for Pennsylvania Child Abuse History, Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Background Check and FBI Criminal Background Check prior to hire. The salary range for this position, including all possible grades is: $56,200.00 - $81,500.00
