EO Companies Program Manager for Family and Community Health Education in Abingdon, Virginia

Program Manager

Purpose of the position

The Program Manager will manage, coordinate, and deliver EOs Emerging Workforce initiatives in collaboration with community partners. The Manager serves as the directly responsible Individual (DRI) for the project and supervises the Coordinators within Emerging Workforce grants and initiatives that create expanded learning opportunities for students and lead them to discover meaningful career opportunities. The Manager will focus on workforce development in the healthcare sector, connecting historically marginalized communities to high-quality, family-sustaining jobs, while improving critically needed healthcare infrastructure in the region, fostering long-term economic stability and growth.

Essential functions

  • Manage a portfolio of grants and initiatives to ensure the goals and objectives are met on time and within budget
  • Supervise and train program staff
  • Participate in appropriate external committees and be the primary point of contact with key stakeholders, other funders, education institutions, and governments for the purposes of information exchange and capacity-building support, and to promote EOs various initiatives and investments for supporting the emerging workforce
  • Plan and manage implementation of projects of varying size and complexity
  • Convene and/or coordinate and facilitate quarterly advisory council meetings in collaboration with the Director
  • Along with the Director, work to account for all expenditures and report to key stakeholders and investors for all initiatives in the Emerging Workforce portfolio
  • Attend professional development related to, and maintain appropriate certifications for, project implementation
  • Work in conjunction with EOs Marketing and Communications Department to develop departmental materials and collateral
  • Work in conjunction with the Director to ensure fiscal requirements of assigned projects are followed and appropriately documented
  • Establish and maintain partnerships with local schools and businesses to offer a network of career exploration and development including Site tours of local employers, in-classroom demonstrations, and learning opportunities
