The Opportunity

As a leading provider of drug and alcohol testing solutions we are partnering with local, national, and multinational organisations across many industries to build and deliver customised end-to-end solutions. Those solutions range from providing rapid point of care drug tests to a full-service offering consisting of industry-specific medical assessments, health surveillance, health & wellbeing services, random- and for cause drug testing on site and in our laboratories, and many more.

We are now recruiting for a Service Technician within our Toxicology Technical Operations team in Abingdon , our legal manufacturer of SoToxa (mobile drug analyser).

What You’ll Do

As a Service Technician you will act as the Subject Matter Expert for our mobile drug analyzer - SoToxa, and you will perform its incoming inspections. You will also test and install software and updates and liaise with our Global Service Hubs for training purposes, maintenance queries, technical issues and software updates. A key part of the role is liaison with the Product Support team, enabling them to keep the customer informed as to the progress of servicing and repairs undertaken, Working at Abbott, you can help shape the future of healthcare whilst shaping your career.

Required Qualifications

To be successful you would need to be passionate about computers/electronics and have strong motivation to support people from a technical operations perspective. Continuous Improvement is an important part of our culture, so you will also have the opportunity to propose and contribute to initiatives and projects that improve our processes.

You will also be required to demonstrate the ability to effectively communicate with colleagues from other departments (especially virtually) and to provide a high standard of technical support.
