Caprock Home Health Uvalde Personal Care Attendant (Abilene) in Abilene, Texas
Job Summary:
- Performs personal assistance service tasks as assigned under a clients care plan.
- Assists the client with the performance of activities of daily living and household tasks necessary to promote independence and quality of life.
- Maintain the client in a clean, sanitary, and safe environment.
Job Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Be neither the legal nor foster parent of the minor child receiving services.
- Not be the spouse of the client (not applicable to the Family Care Program)
- Not be listed as Do Not Hire by the clients Case Manager.
- Able to perform all daily activity tasks and safely operate household appliances.
- Physically able to assist clients with personal care tasks. (weight may vary)
- Must pass background check, OIG, EMR/NAR.
Two Types of Attendants: *Regular Attendants:*
- Performs all personal assistance services available within their scope of competency.
- Must receive general orientation before/or at the time services begin.
Special Attendants:
- May be used to initiate services, prevent breaks in service and provide ongoing service.
Special Attendants must have:
- Six continuous months of experience in the delivery of personal care tasks in personal assistance services, Family Care or Primary Home Care; or
- Be listed as a nurse's aide on the Texas Department of Health Nurses Aide Registry; or
- Meet the requirements described in section 26 TAC 588.701.
