Texas Healthcare Linen Part-Time Administrative Support in Abilene, Texas

Texas Healthcare Linen is looking to fill a Part-Time Administrative Support position. In this position employee will p

erform various clerical and support duties for the THL operation and assists leadership personnel in any way necessary to ensure effective operations and practices.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for "first impression management" for the plant, including the organization and cleanliness of the front office area, and maintaining a friendly, professional and welcoming environment to front-door guests and telephone callers.
  • Performs general front office duties, including but not limited to distributing mail, answering phones, sending faxes/emails, making copies, managing file systems and records, and providing service to guests and visitors to the plant (vendors, employment applicants, etc.) as needed.
  • Inputs daily customer orders into a linen management software program, taking requested quantities of goods and creating cart tickets to make customer orders.
  • Prints the orders and provides them to the production team to be produced for the day.
  • Assists Leadership staff with maintaining necessary records, reports and logs for the respective areas of the plant, along with completing any other special projects or duties as assigned.
  • Completes special projects, tasks and assignments as needed.
  • Coordinates and facilitates front door sales of blue rags and ragout goods to the general public, including bagging the rags to be sold, taking cash or check payments, and any other duties necessary to ensure rag sales are able to be executed effectively.

Qualifications:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, professional email etiquette and composition, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, ability to learn and become proficient with specialized linen management software program.
  • Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume. Apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Required to speak, read and comprehend English fluently. Read, analyze and interpret business, professional, technical or governmental documents. Write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, customers and the public.

Education/Experience:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
