Summary About the Position: The Chemical Biological Center (CBC) is the nation's principal research and development resource for non-medical chemical and biological defense. Responsibilities Define, develop, and evaluate security measures, devices, methods, and procedures to protect Center personnel and facilities from external and internal threats. Serve as a security specialist with primary responsibility for Information Security (INFOSEC), Operations Security (OPSEC), Security functional disciplines, and the Security Awareness Training Program. Review, analyze and recommend positive courses of actions to unique organizational mission INFOSEC-related security problems not resolvable by application of standard regulatory requirements. Communicate project or program results at high levels within and outside the organization. Interpret regulations and contributes to policy formulation pertaining to the security functional areas. Provide advice and assistance to CBC Data Processing Activity (DPA) managers in preparation of accreditation documentation for sensitive, highly sensitive, or critically sensitive systems/applications. Act as the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) Officer responsible for the conduct of OPSEC reviews, subject matter expert reviews, and making initial recommendations for release under FOIA.
