Spectra Tech, LLC, is currently looking for an Audio Visual (A/V) Technician to work on a government project at Aberdeen Proving Grounds in Aberdeen, Maryland.This position is a full-time and onsite at Aberdeen Proving Grounds.

Responsibilities/Duties

  • Assist with Government requirements with system design, system testing and configuration

  • Specify, configure, and test hardware and software components to include projectors, touch panels, audiovisual (A/V) switchers, audio sound/ quality, microphones, and VTC systems.

  • Programming and updating AMX code

  • Design, install, racking, or moving A/V equipment

  • Assists with conferences, meetings, seminars, or workshops scheduled at ARL facilities

  • Maintains A/V equipment in ARL facilities or conference rooms

  • Pulls, terminates, and connects cabling for A/V system electronics and confirm proper operation

  • Prepares ARL facilities or conference room for meetings

  • Schedules ARL facilities or conference rooms

  • Provides detailed attention regarding equipment support

  • Completes weekly project status reports and provides to the Program Director

  • Occasional travel will be required

Required Skills

  • U.S. Citizenship is required per contract to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Defense Secret Clearance

  • At least 2 years experience with Tandberg or Polycom VTC equipment

  • At least 2-3 years of hands-on experience A/V component implementation and use

  • Must be able to pull, terminate, and connect cabling for A/V system electronics and confirm proper operation

  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing

  • Must be able to troubleshoot A/V related issues

Preferred Skills

  • CTS certification a plus but not required

  • Heavy lifting (up to 75 lbs.) may be required

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus

  • The noise level in the work environment is very loud where ear protection is necessary.

  • Position may require working with heights and in confined space
