We currently have an exciting opportunity available to join our Property and Maintenance Team as a Relief Painter based in Aberdeen, working on an ad-hoc basis to meet the needs of the organisation and the services we support.

Hours: Ad-hoc as and when required

Rate: £13.15 per hour

About the role:

To provide a routine and proactive painting service at all VSA's establishments and associated services, carrying out painting and decorating work as and when required or identified.

Responsibilities of our Painter will include:

  • Carry out the duties of a qualified painter.

  • Establishing, agreeing and implementing a routine to carry out daily, weekly and monthly tasks in consultation with the Head of Business, Property Inspector and Asset & Facilities Manager.

  • Ensuring Health and Safety standards are rigorously met by all, whilst undertaking own duties.

  • Any other duties that may arise from time to time provided they are within the post holders capabilities.

  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with internal customers.

Experience:

  • Must be a time served painter or hold an appropriate city and guilds, scotvec or equivalent qualification in painting.

  • Evidenced experience of stripping wallpaper, applying paint finishing to both internal and external surfaces with gloss, emulsion, woodstain, varnish, primer and undercoat.

  • Wallpaper - both cutting and hanging.

  • Taping plasterboard surfaces.

  • Working knowledge of Health and Safety.

Other Job Requirements:

A high level of fitness is required, as the post will involve aspects of manual handling on a day to day basis. This role will require the successful individual to have their own transport and a valid drivers licence.
