Position Summary

The Consulting Master Data Management (MDM) Lead is a key role within our consulting practice, responsible for defining and implementing master data management strategies for our clients across various industries. This role ensures the accuracy, consistency, and governance of key data assets, enabling our clients to make informed and strategic decisions. The Consulting MDM Lead will work closely with client business units, IT departments, and data governance teams to establish and maintain robust data management practices.

Key Responsibilities:

Data Strategy and Governance:

· Develop and execute comprehensive MDM strategies and roadmap that align with clients' business objectives.

· Advise on data governance policies and standards to ensure data quality and integrity for clients – deeper than general best practice and aligned to the client’s industry.

· Lead the definition and approach to establish data dictionaries, data standards, and metadata management practices for client organizations.

· Collaborate with client senior leadership to champion data governance initiatives and promote a culture of data stewardship.

Data Integration and Management:

· Oversee the integration of master data across various client systems and platforms, ensuring data consistency and accuracy.

· Direct the lifecycle of master data for clients, including data profiling, cleansing, enrichment, and validation processes.

· Lead the design and implementation of Data Management tools and technologies to support strategic data initiatives within our clients

· Define data quality metrics and develop processes for continuous improvement in client engagements.

Client Collaboration and Leadership

· Lead a team of data management professionals, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance management.

· Collaborate with client business stakeholders to understand their data needs and provide solutions that meet their requirements.

· Work closely with client IT and data governance teams to ensure alignment on data management practices and technology solutions.

· Facilitate cross-functional data governance councils and working groups to address data-related challenges and opportunities in client organizations.

Project Management:

· Manage MDM projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with client business objectives.

· Develop project plans, timelines, and budgets, and track progress against key milestones in client engagements.

· Identify and mitigate risks associated with data management initiatives in client projects.

· Communicate project status, issues, and outcomes to stakeholders at all levels of client organizations.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • 8-10 years’ experience in a consulting or advisory role as a technical specialist, architect, and/or developer

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in data management, data governance, enterprise system conversions or a related discipline, preferably within a consulting environment

  • Proficiency in MDM tools and technologies, such as Informatica, Profisee, or similar platforms

  • Knowledge of data integration techniques, data modeling, and database management

  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and industry standards related to data management

  • Proven experience in managing and implementing MDM solutions and tools for clients

  • Deep expertise in design and architecture of cloud-based enterprise scale software solutions

  • Strong understanding of data governance principles, data quality management, and data lifecycle management

  • Deep experience in solution design and architecture, complex application integrations, and data conversion

  • The ability to train and participate in the professional development of Huron technical staff

  • The ability to contribute on multiple projects of differing scale and duration

  • Ability and willingness to support pursuit activities by attending and participating in orals as a technical expert

  • Huron requires a Bachelor’s Degree in a field related to this position or equivalent work experience

  • Willingness to travel up to 50%
