A Day in the Life

Cardiac Ablation Solutions (CAS) offers cardiac mapping and ablation solutions to treat patients with abnormal heart rhythms. Our vision is to help patients worldwide by advancing innovation for the diagnosis and ablation of cardiac arrhythmias, enabling clinicians to perform procedures with superior outcomes. The Engineering Program Director represents Operations as the Core Team Operations Representative (CTOR) and is the primary Operations interface to the New Product Development Core team.  This is a highly visible and impactful role leading a global operations team responsible for shaping the manufacturing architecture to successfully develop and launch new products to meet cost, quality and supply goals for the business.

The Engineering Program Director (CTOR) will provide program leadership to drive strategic and tactical activities for operations on New Product Development Core team.

Responsibilities may include the following -other duties may be assigned:

• Lead the Extended Operations Team comprising of Supply Management, Supplier Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, Process Development, Packaging and Supply Chain to ensure on-time and on-budget performance through the new product development cycle. 

• Champion the Voice of Operations (VOO)as well as drive planning and execution to ensure scope, schedule and budget alignment between operations and core team functions.

• Track and Manage Operations KPI’s such as Predictive LBM’s, Predictive RTY’s, Capacity Planning & BOM Readiness.

• Demonstrate strong financial acumen with managing direct expense, capital, unit pricing & free cash flow.

• Lead Design Transfer and Commercial Build Readinessto ensure quality system compliance to achieve production readiness and successful product launches.

• Strong communicator with the ability to lead and Influence between Extended Operations Team and Core Team

• Coach and develop extended Operations members, to help individuals advance their skills and careers. Provide performance feedback.

• Integrate Design for Reliability & Manufacturability(DRM) during product development as well as ensure structured problem methods and predictive engineering principles are consistently and rigorously applied. 

• Skilled negotiator with demonstrated ability to create mutually beneficial results and negotiate trade-offs.

• Partner within the Operating Unit (OU) & Global Operations and supply chain (GO-SC) to grow and nurture cross functional & cross manufacturing site relationships in a large & matrixed organization.

Nice to Have

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering/science or a related discipline 

• Experience as a Program Manager leading large scale new product development programs.

• Proven Operations experience with depth of knowledge in at least two Operations function

• Avanced degree in engineering/science or a related discipline 

• Medical Device product development or operations experience with catheters, sheaths or other disposable medical devices.

• Program Management experience (PMP Certified), DRM, DFSS or Six Sigma Black Belt Certified

Requires a Baccalaureate degree (or for degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree which satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)( 4)(iii)(A) and minimum of 10 years of relevant experience and 7+ years of managerial experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 8 years relevant experience and 7+ years of managerial experience.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$187,200.00 - $280,800.00

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).This position is eligible for an annual long-term incentive plan.

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
