A Brief Overview
The Director - Business Operations, Solid Organ Transplant is responsible for directing, leading, and executing the financial strategy set forth by the executive leadership. This position will collaborate closely with the Vice President, Solid Organ Transplant to recognize financial opportunities and serve as a strategic thought partner to the transplant leadership both SHC and SOM. Additional responsibilities will include financial management, budgeting, contract management, human resource planning, purchasing, workflows, process management, management of department-wide projects, and leadership and oversight for the team of transplant financial and charge coordinators. This individual will serve as the content matter expert in transplant related Medicare cost report reimbursement. This role involves close collaboration with the Managed Care Department related to transplant contracting and financial authorization for transplant services.
The position has significant strategic finance and operational aspects to it. This leader will represent the Solid Organ Transplant DSL in cross-functional interactions related to strategy, business development, productivity metrics, and performance improvement objectives. In collaboration with Finance and Decision Support, the Director, Business Operations, Solid Organ Transplant is responsible for formulating and managing capital and operating budget consolidation, financial reporting, forecasting, business plans, and implementation of financial and operational controls. The incumbent is a senior member of the leadership team and will be required to provide strategic insights in addition to the operational responsibilities.

What you will do
Establishes financial, business and operating structures for the Solid Organ Transplant business unit to align with the organization’s goals. Provides the direction, method, tools and training to record, measure and track the financial and operating performance of the organization.
Working in unison with Finance, creates, communicates, and implements the annual budgeting process. Educates (trains) clinical leaders about the process and ensures the process is executed within the parameters defined. Provides on-going oversight of the operations within the final budget.
Establishes structures to monitor variances and track financial trends including revenue and labor expenses. Provides ad hoc reporting for senior management related to volume, cost, performance and profitability. Initiates operational controls/procedures to ensure tracking, collecting & recovering revenue are in place.
Supervises the development and production of standard reports that provide senior management with information on financial results and trends by department and segments. Provides impact and feasibility analysis for business planning and program initiatives.
Provides strategic input to space plan governance document and manages the complete inventory of existing space and space assignment.
Facilitates cooperation with other entity/department leadership to achieve standardize, integrated and/or consolidated financial planning, budgeting, patient accounting, budget management, patient accounting and contracting.
Recommends improvements in systems and processes that enhance efficiency and reduce cost within the business unit and throughout the organization. Provides direction and support for cost reduction activities working closely with nurses, physicians, patient care and technical staff.

Education Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, management, healthcare administration, finance or a related field from an accredited college or university (Master’s degree preferred)
Experience Qualifications
- Eight (8) or more years of financial management experience, preferably in a hospital or healthcare system setting
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Demonstrated competency in finance and decision support
Demonstrated skills in analytical assessment, oral and written communication
Expert skills with PC base applications (Excel, Access, Powerpoint)
Conversant in financial & operation systems (e.g. Lawson, IDX SMS GL, cost accounting, executive management, etc.)
Ability to work in a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team environment
Strong communication skills and ability to promote and maintain interpersonal relationships

Base Pay Scale: Generally starting at $86.41 - $114.50 per hour
The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training. This pay scale is not a promise of a particular wage.
