About the role

The Senior National Accounts Manager is responsible for developing and executing strategic plans to drive sales growth and achieve revenue targets within key national accounts for Diageo Non-Alcohol Beverages (DNAB). This role involves building strong relationships with customers, understanding their business needs, and leveraging the DNAB brands to deliver mutually beneficial solutions.

The role is responsible for a team of 6 working across on premise, off premise and specialty accounts. The position will be responsible for driving the strategy and execution for all National and Regional Accounts. They will be responsible for driving current business while expanding the door count for all DNAB brands.

The Senior Manager will also work with Diageo North America teams to inform and align on strategy that helps drive the overall Diageo business.

Role Responsibilities

Account Management:

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers in national accounts.

  • Create and implement strategic account plans to achieve sales targets.

  • Monitor account performance and provide regular updates to senior management.

  • Work with Diageo National Account teams to strengthen relationships internally.

  • Work across trade marketing/commercial planning, field sales and brand leadership to maximize efficiency.

Sales Strategy:

  • Identify growth opportunities within assigned accounts.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., marketing, supply chain) to develop tailored solutions for customers.

  • Negotiate contracts and terms of trade with key accounts.

Market Analysis:

  • Analyze market trends, customer data, and competitor activity to inform account strategies.

  • Provide insights and recommendations to improve market share and brand presence.

Customer Engagement:

  • Conduct regular business reviews with customers.

  • Present new products, promotions, and initiatives to drive sales growth.

  • Address customer inquiries and resolve issues in a timely manner.

Team Leadership:

  • Mentor and support account managers.

  • Foster a collaborative team environment focused on achieving collective goals.

Experience / skills required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field; MBA preferred.

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in national account management within the beverage industry or FMCG sector.

  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and growing key accounts.

  • Strong negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.

  • Proficiency in shopper marketing strategy.

  • Ability to analyze complex data sets and translate insights into actionable plans.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with CRM software is a plus.
