How you will make an impact:
The Principal Electrical Engineer, R&D will support Electronic Hardware development.
Working with internal and external resources to execute the design and development, testing and release of electronic hardware used in medical device systems.
Strong emphasis on Electrical Engineering with a broad multi-disciplinary R&D experience in design and development of analog, digital and mixed electronic circuits, optoelectronics, sensors and front-end signal conditioning circuits for medical device and biomedical applications.
Responsible for applying electrical engineering and product development experience to develop novel methods and new concepts for patient monitoring products.
Responsible for performing basic R&D work and feasibility of new concepts, analyzing data, drawing conclusions and preparing final reports and presentations.
Additional responsibilities include developing electronic hardware requirements and system designs, interfacing and management of external electronic development partners, agency testing to support 60601-1 and 60601-1-2 and other required testing, troubleshooting field issues, and providing input/support for medical device design control deliverables. Experience with designing to meet the requirements of 60601 is highly desirable
What you'll need (Required):
Bachelor's Degree in in Engineering or Scientific field, 6 years of experience, including either industry or industry/education -OR-
Master's Degree or equivalent in in Engineering or Scientific field, 5 years of experience, including either industry or industry/education Required -OR-
Ph.D. or equivalent in in Engineering or Scientific field, 2 years of experience, including either industry or industry/education
What else we look for (Preferred):
A degree in Electrical Engineer is strongly preferred.
Experience developing electronic hardware for medical devices in an FDA regulated environment strongly preferred.
Strong theoretical and applied experience in analog electronic circuits design.
Experience with front-end analog signal conditioning circuits.
Experience with analog sensors such as sensors to measure temperature, pressure, flow, etc.
Strong experience in medical device product development.
Strong theoretical and applied experience in analog electronic circuits for medical and biomedical applications and bioinstrumentation: experience with analog electronic circuits to measure electrophysiological and biomedical signals.
Proficient with EE design tools: Tools for Printed Circuit Board (PCB) development. Altium experience preferred.
Experience in analog, digital and mixed circuit simulation and modeling (with for example PSPICE and other similar software packages).
Experience with embedded systems.
Experience with microcontrollers and FPGAs.
Experience with CPLDs.
Experience in designing for and testing to Regulatory standards such as IEC/EN60601-1 and IEC/EN60601-1-2, etc.
Excellent documentation of work results.
Experience in writing requirements, design documentation, test protocols, test reports, scientific reports and papers.

For California, the base pay range for this position is $115,000 to $163,000 (highly experienced).
