Facilities Service Grounds (Temp) Monday - Friday, 7:00AM - 4:00PM; 20 - 40 hours per week; no holidays Part-time; May 20^th^, 2024 - September 1, 2024,** Position Number:00028456? Internal/External
Position Description: The Facilities Services Groundskeeper Assistant position is working on the grounds crew to assist permanent staff in providing basic grounds duties. Performs general campus clean up;mowing, leaf removal, shrub care, planting and care of flower beds, and shrub/tree pruning. May be involved with moving equipment, refueling grounds vehicles, and set up/take down for events. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions which can be loud at times. As an assistant you must have good communication, organize task logically and efficiently, recognize safety concerns, learn how to properly use chemicals and ground equipment, and work independently or in a team setting.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Ability to lift and move 50 pounds.
- Physical ability to perform routine lawn maintenance.
- Valid drivers license
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in Ground keeping and /or moving equipment.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Compensation: $15 -18 per hour and commensurate with experience and qualifications.
