ITW Production Attendant - 1st Shift in Troy, Ohio

The Cooking Business Unit produces Vulcan brand energy efficient steam cooking equipment including steamers, braising pans and kettles found in large chain restaurants, emerging/regional chains, independent restaurants, K-12 schools, grocery, and hotels/recreation. Vulcan has been recognized by chefs and operators throughout the world for its top-quality, energy efficient commercial cooking equipment.

  • Responsible for the receipt, identification, storage, disbursement, and inventory of materials, supplies and equipment in the storage areas and stockrooms to which assigned. Move and handle material as required.

  • Check in materials received, place in proper storage area, or instruct trucker as to place in storage, fill in inventory cards, maintain stores in an orderly and safe condition. Use CRT or other electronic information storage system to access location and quantity information.

  • Expedite the disbursement of, or select, count, or weigh, and deliver stock to manufacturing or shipping areas and make necessary adjustments to records to maintain accurate inventories.

  • Check parts for identification and quantity, pack miscellaneous small service parts for shipment, make physical inventories, handle material as required, including hand trucking.

  • Keep stored materials systematically arranged and sorted in storage areas, observe good housekeeping practices, and follow all safety precautions. Advise proper supervision of any and all shortages.

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.

  • Operate a stand-up and sit-down fork truck and obtain certification.

  • Observe all safety requirements.

  • 2+ years of material handling experience.

  • Must be able to balance multiple priorities.

  • Proven written and verbal communication skills.

  • Proficient in Data entry, math and computer skills.

  • Able to work in a team environment and self-directed when applicable.

Physical Requirements / Working Conditions

  • Manufacturing Environment

  • Working in hot/cold environment

  • May occasionally move material up to 50 lbs.

  • High frequency welding

  • Requires PPE: hearing, eye and foot protection

  • May require some climbing

  • Extended Periods of Walking/Standing/Sitting/Bending/Stooping throughout shift
