ProMedica Health System RN / Registered Nurse - Observation Unit - Full Time - Days in Toledo, Ohio

Scope of Service: The Registered Nurse provides nursing care to individuals and groups which require specialized knowledge, judgment, and skill derived from the principles of biological, physical, behavioral, social, spiritual/cultural, and nursing sciences. The Registered Nurse functions within the full scope of nursing practice as noted by the Board of Nursing of their designated state for which they are practicing in addition to compliance with any of the hospitals accrediting bodies.

$10,000 Sign-On Bonus Eligible

Unit Overview:

32 Bed Unit 4:1 Patient to RN ratio Autonomous, nurse driven, fast-paced environment Average patient length of stay is under 24 hours

Patient Population:

A wide variety of medical surgical and intermediate level observation status patients managed by hospitalists, surgeons and ER providers. Patient diagnoses encompass cardiology (chest pain, atrial fibrillation, CHF, etc), neurology (TIA, syncope, seizure, headache, vertigo), urology (kidney stone, flank pain), post-op (laminectomy, fusion, appendectomy, cholecystectomy, thyroidectomy, hysterectomy, orthopedic surgeries, etc), anemia, generalized abdominal pain, COPD, etc.

Position Requirements

Graduate of an accredited nursing school. BSN preferred Current State license as a Registered Nurse 1 year of experience as an RN Current CPR / BLS Certification Specialty certifications as required for the department

**RNs for this unit will be required to obtain ACLS and NIHSS Certification (not required prior to hire)
