The Commerce Analyst 1 performs crime analysis work involving the collection, processing, and dissemination of data and information to and from local, state, federal, and international jurisdictions in support of and to enhance the investigation and prosecution of individuals and groups engaged in insurance fraud, financial crimes and associated criminal activities. This civilian position is also responsible for collecting, evaluating, analyzing and logging evidence from crime scenes and search warrants throughout the State of Minnesota. This position requires excellent communications skills, problem-solving capabilities, and the ability to plan courses of action with minimal direction.

Minimum Qualifications

  • One (1) year of experience working in investigations, analysis, intelligence-oriented work in a local, state, or federal law enforcement setting.

  • A valid Minnesota Class D Driver License or equivalent from another state (a single unit vehicle with a gross vehicle weight of less than 26,000 pounds.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with financial analytical databases.

  • Experience requesting, working with and, handling insurance claim files.

  • Complex case/data analysis experience from inception to generation of comprehensive, understandable, detailed reports.

Physical Requirements

Requires occasional moving of articles such as "banker's boxes", accounting records, laptop computer, and other irregularly shaped items, to include from overhead, from varying weight(s) from place to place.

Additional Requirements
