Abbott Senior Financial Analyst in Singapore, Singapore

The position is an integral part of the Asia Pacific headquarters finance function. It involves working with the AHQ senior management team and other finance personnel from across Abbott Asia Pacific region. APAC will be the main focus of this role.
The position has dual responsibility to assist the EMAK/ANZ markets and support projects from both regional APAC and EMAK/ANZ
Supporting EMAK/ANZ will also be a core component of the role

Support Finance Controller in analysis of forecast, budget, actuals and other specific business dynamics in Asia Pacific
Provide analytical support and relevant financial information in business decision making, commercial strategies, allocation of resources based on commercial opportunities
Monitor country financial performance by highlighting material variances using system generated detail and trend reports.
Prepare and distribute financial reports and packages by gathering and analyzing information related to current performance.
Perform financial analysis, as directed by management, and recommend alternatives courses of action by utilizing appropriate financial tools.
Supports team members in the preparation of Business Reviews, such as monthly division review, budget reviews and others
Support in business modelling, PL forecasts and competitor benchmarking
Coordinate in headcount hiring; provide variance analysis explanation
Support country/ regional historical trends & reports in commercial KPI
Ensuring compliance with financial guidelines, company policies, and relevant legal regulations
Perform daily general ledger accounting, balance sheet reconciliations, financial reporting, month end closing and analysis
Review and investigate the company’s accounting transactions to improve data accuracy
Support internal and external audit
Support APAC / country projects decided by Area
Supporting and championing system change in the organization through continuous improvement of reporting systems
Be prepared to take any ad hoc projects at any time, last minute requirements, expansion of scope or projects, for both country and APAC as requested by manager or APAC controller. Hours required to meet deadlines may require outside of normal hours due to the expectations for APAC higher as representative of entire business”
Requirements
Degree in Finance or Accountancy or related subjects
Minimum 5 years of business controlling experience in multinational, customer-oriented environment (Experience in FP&A is highly advantageous)
Excellent analytical/ problem solving skills and critical thinking abilities
Strong can-do attitude: Innovative and collaborative with a passion for quality and efficiency
Good interpersonal and communication skills
High proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint and ability to learn / leverage on digital tools
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written
