Universal Health Services Recreational Therapist Intern - in SAVANNAH, Georgia
Responsibilities
Coastal Harbor Health System's is currently seeking R ecreational Therapy Interns for the Summer :
Work Alongside RT at facility to:
Assess client leisure needs and develop behavioral treatment plans, goals, and interventions which are goal focused and evidence based.
Document assigned client’s progress on a daily basis in a timely manner. Complete appropriate and assigned written materials, documents, and forms to assist in the organization and communication in the department.
Develop a weekly schedule of planned client activities.
Assist in the day to day monitoring of the client population.
Establish, initiate, organize, and conduct the recreation therapy treatment program including leisure education, aerobics, creative expression, outdoor education, community reintegration, and special events such as birthdays, holidays, and graduation parties.
Work with RT coordinator in monitoring RT programming to ensure programming is well balanced, coordinated and goal centered. Identify weaknesses in programming and develop problem solving solutions and strategies to strengthen the department
Promote the physical appearance of the unit through decorations, bulletin boards, and displays of client activities.

Qualifications
Intern Requirements: Currently in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program for Recreational Therapy, and actively enrolled in a University Internship Program .
