BeiGene Manager, Veeva Systems Operations in San Mateo, California

General Description:

As part of BeiGene’s Global Technology Solutions organization, this colleague will be responsible for management of BeiGene’s Operational Support Services for the Veeva platform.

The ideal candidate should bring experience working in enterprise application environments in life sciences with the ability to manage the support team handling user management, issue management, change management and operational improvements. Candidate must have experience in managing Veeva IT system administrators to ensure system operations and availability. Candidate must be able to manage the customer relationships with the respective Business Process Owners and their users. Candidate with technical knowledge and experience with Veeva Quality, RIM, Clinical, and/or Safety is a plus. Knowledge and understanding of support operations for onsite or offshore models.

Essential Functions of the job:

Manage the System Administrators that provide operational support for Veeva vault (Quality, RIM, Clinical, Safety):

  • Ensure assignment and timely resolution of account requests, user issues and change requests.

  • Provide support and assistance to administrators for issue resolution and change requests.

  • Identify process challenges and implement process improvements.

  • Support requirements definition, solutioning and implementation.

  • Communicate with customers on operational support services and requests.

  • Provide technical solution to address business requirement.

  • Hands-on technical configuration experience with workflow and vault objects

  • Vault deployment of changes/enhancements across environment

  • Hands-on technical management of system access and security model

  • Experience performing system refresh and upgrades.

  • Manage issue and change activities and timelines.

  • Oversee Veeva managed services resources

  • Provide periodic operations reports and metrics to manager.

  • Establish management dashboards of operational activities.

Accountable for delivery of Veeva system support services for user management, issue management, periodic system releases/upgrades, change management and process improvements:

  • help define project scope and deliverables to support business goals in collaboration with senior management stakeholders

  • liaise with computer system vendors, IT partners, Validation and the business to coordinate implementation activities

  • partner with business to define business process(es) & user requirements

  • participate in the authoring and execution of implementation plans/qualification tests

  • participate in the authoring of computerized system validation documentation

Analyze user enhancement requests to deliver solutions focused on establishing and improving business processes that improve efficiency, address process gaps, and enable automation and growth of the organization

Computer Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Technology or Equivalent 7+ Years Work Experience Managing IT Systems Operations

  • Veeva System Administration Certification or Equivalent 4+ Years Experience

  • Database and Computer Networking Knowledge

  • Experience Working on SaaS Enterprise Solutions

Other Qualifications:

  • Experience managing validated applications in a pharmaceutical or regulated environment

  • Direct hands-on experience implementing technical solutions (workflows, objects, security) and validating GxP computerized systems

  • Strong process improvement skills and orientation

  • Must have proven business and technology skills with success providing customer-oriented technology solutions environment.

  • Proven strong communication skills interacting with user and technical communities.

  • Ability to work with the customer and manager to prioritize requests and escalate where necessary.

  • Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language.

Education Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Technology or Equivalent 7+ Years Work Experience Managing IT Systems Operations

  • Veeva System Administration Certification or Equivalent 4+ Years Experience

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position includes managing internal and external staff; coaching and mentoring junior staff with training/orientation/qualification when required.

Travel: > 25%
