The Harasymowicz Lab in the University of Utahs the Department of Orthopaedics and Molecular Medicine Program is hiring a junior, BS-level lab technician. Our lab seeks to understand the molecular mechanisms of osteoarthritis (OA) with a focus on novel immune cells found in the knee joints. To achieve our goals, we combine immunology and molecular biology techniques with different models of OA.This position entails both independent research and assisting senior laboratory personnel in planning methods and techniques. Work requires exercising independent judgment and basic theoretical knowledge of the applicable science. This position may include limited supervision of entry-level laboratory personnel, who may refer sensitive or unusual situations to the incumbent. If the incumbent cannot find a resolution, the situation is referred to the supervisor. Work is performed in accordance with the supervision of senior laboratory personnel and through periodic meetings with superiors.
