Vice President -- Daylighting Sales

Job Summary

This position will lead the company's multiple sales channels through establishing and executing an overall strategy and business plan channels, establishing & developing a strong sales team of agencies and distributors, and identifying/acquiring target accounts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create go forward sales strategy for a growing daylighting business through its multiple sales channels. This includes understanding of market analytics, product portfolios, and value propositions for multiple specific channels. Includes tracking individual company performance, sales trends, as well as their customers' buying habits and trends.
  • Build and motivate a high performing organization with increasingly talented individuals that will exceed our company performance goals and enhance customer buying experiences. Continuously design a lean highly effective business model to exceed company performance metrics through a customer acquisition and retention
  • Train, coach and mentor employees within the department to optimize sales of daylighting products and sales effectiveness. Use industry knowledge and experience to guide employees' business knowledge so they can contribute to the department's performance and to their specific role. Coach and mentor employees regarding job related responsibilities, customer related opportunities and issues as well as career growth and development. These activities create a high performing organization with the purpose of delivering defined company results and create a loyal customer base.
  • Establish department goals and budgets for all sales-related activities.. Using industry and company data, must establish the strategic direction for sales potential, margin and new market penetration and contrast those inputs with expenses including SG&A, inventory and discretionary to effectively develop budgets that meet company performance goals.
  • Identify strategic product and application opportunities within our customer market focus and effectively communicate within our product development organization.
  • Develop strong business relationships with key executive level influences within our existing customer base, prospective customers, venders and channel partners. These relationships provide enhanced strategic information regarding product innovation, service requirements, competitive intelligence, future trends in buying habits and business development.
  • Maintain current knowledge of company, industry and governmental policies, regulations and codes to make certain our business unit and its employees support these guidelines and requirements

Minimum Requirements:

  • 9 to 12 years of experience
  • Broad business and strong financial acumen.
  • Understanding of technical knowledge of daylighting, lighting and controls and related applications.
  • Bachelors Degree in Sales, Marketing, Engineering, Building Sciences or related field.
  • Advanced degree preferred.
