Responsible for front line office support to the department. Coordinates and performs

front line office activities in an effective and efficient manner for the department.

Works under the direction of the Senior Access Rep and is directly accountable to the Site Supervisor/Operations Manager.


*1. Responsible for performing daily office functions.

*2. Responsible for scheduling and advanced scheduling appointments and resolving schedule conflicts

*3. Responsible for advanced registration, gathering and verifying insurance, information, and completion of insurance forms.

*4. Responsible for communicating with patients, and across departments, specialties and sites.

*5. Applies name-bands to all patients checking in at front desk.

*6. Responsible for cash collection and close-out/end of the day business duties.

*7. Responsible for medical record management and maintenance.

Demonstrates competence in written, oral and electronic communication skills (intermediate typing, keyboarding, and computer skills).

Demonstrates advanced knowledge of medical terminology, insurance referral and pre-certification processes, coding, EPIC applications, IDX, SMS, and IMPAC.

Demonstrates office skills; proficient at electronic scanning.

Demonstrates ability to work independently, set priorities, multi-task, and provide problem resolution.

Demonstrates excellent customer service skills.


High School Diploma or GED and minimum six months KAP experience required.

Successful completion of Key Access Personnel (KAP) training during orientation period.


Work is typically performed in an office environment.
