Robert Half Purchasing Agent in Orlando, Florida

Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity in the telecom industry for a Purchasing Agent based in Orlando, Florida. This role will focus on contract management, vendor relationship management, collaboration and communication, compliance and risk management, record keeping, and cost management.

Responsibilities:

• Draft, review, and negotiate contracts with vendors and suppliers ensuring alignment with company policies, legal requirements, and industry standards.

• Collaborate with legal and relevant departments to finalize contractual terms.

• Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers, evaluating their performance and ensuring compliance with contractual obligations.

• Address and resolve any issues or disputes that may arise during the contract lifecycle.

• Work closely with various departments, including procurement, legal, finance, and project management, to understand their contract needs.

• Communicate contract terms, conditions, and expectations to internal stakeholders.

• Monitor and ensure compliance with contractual terms and conditions, identifying and assessing potential risks associated with contracts and implementing risk mitigation strategies.

• Maintain accurate and organized contract records and documentation, and track contract expiration dates and renewal timelines.

• Negotiate favorable terms and pricing with vendors to optimize cost savings and identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement.

• Create and generate purchase orders as needed. Requirements • Must have a strong understanding of purchasing procedures and policies

• Proficiency in creating and generating purchase orders is required

• Capability to evaluate potential suppliers based on price, quality, and delivery speed

• Familiarity with market research, data analysis and purchasing best practices

• Working knowledge of MS Office and purchasing software is preferred

• Excellent communication and negotiation skills are essential

• Strong analytical skills to understand and interpret financial data

• Ability to work in a team and build relationships with vendors

• High level of organization and ability to manage multiple tasks

• Attention to detail and problem-solving aptitude

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field is preferred

• Proven experience in a similar role would be advantageous

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards.
