What You’ll Be Doing

Strong Associate level candidate needed to support the US Project Finance & Infrastructure team. He/she will work on detailed financial modeling and financial analysis, assist in undertaking technical and legal / structuring due diligence and assist in presenting proposed transactions to management and credit group. The candidate will also provide assistance in the on-going management of booked assets. He/she will also assist in prospecting new clients, including creating marketing materials, and interfacing with internal product groups.

Over time, Associates within our team are expected to step up and assume increasing levels of responsibility including taking ownership of aspects of deal processes and demonstrating their ability to ultimately step into deal team lead roles on certain transactions.

The successful candidate will be flexible to work hours as needed to help deliver a great client experience, which may include evenings and weekends.

How You’ll Succeed

  • Conduct due diligence on new transactions

  • Complete detailed financial modeling

  • Present proposed transactions to management and credit group

  • Assist in management of booked assets

  • Assist in closing transactions, including managing external consultants, advisors and legal counsel as well as internal processes such as AML, Agency, Loan Processing services and Credit / Risk Management

  • Interface with internal product groups, including rates, commodities, debt capital markets, and investment banking

  • Assist in creating marketing materials

  • Assist in prospecting new clients

  • Collect, assemble and analyze market data

Who You Are

  • 2-4 years experience

  • You can demonstrate a positive track record in energy and/or non-energy infrastructure finance.

  • You have experience building and working in financial models.

  • You are self-motivated and enthusiastic, with an ability to thrive in an intense and energetic environment running multiple deals with multiple responsibilities

At CIBC, we offer a competitive total rewards package. The Associate role has an expected salary range of $150,000 - $170,000 for the New York , New York market based on experience, qualifications, and location of the position. The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit’s incentive compensation plan, which also may include a discretionary bonus component. Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location. Additional total compensation and benefits details will be provided during the hiring process.
