Overview The Disability Resource Center is seeking experienced Sign Language Interpreters. DRC Interpreters provide American Sign Language interpreting for Deaf and/or hard-of hearing students, faculty, staff, and/or visitors at USU.

Responsibilities Provide ASL interpretation for USU sponsored classes and events. Prepare for classes by reviewing course material or other relevant information.

Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: * State or National Interpreter Certification Preferred Qualifications: * 1-3 years ASL interpreter experience. * ASL interpreting experience in a higher educational setting. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to interact with students, faculty and others in a professional way.
  • Understanding of, and commitment to, relevant ethical codes.
  • Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team.
  • Ability to work within a changing schedule.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.

Advertised Salary $25.00-$50.00 per hour, commensurate with experience

ADA Employees work indoors and are protected from weather and/or contaminants, but not, necessarily, occasional temperature changes.  The employee is regularly required to sit and often uses repetitive hand motions. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms and may lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
