The Store Worker performs work and follows procedures in the Clothing Initial Issue Point (CIIP) during the day shift or at night at the Night Room of the CIIP.

Responsibilities

  • Display clothing items in the predetermined location using labels or other identifying marks.

  • Move merchandise by use of non-motorized or motorized equipment.

  • Issue designated clothing items to soldiers.

  • Straighten clothing items after each issue or exchange to give a neat, full, and organized appearance.

  • Remove damaged or outdated clothing as required.

  • Identifies requirements from existing inventory based on the projected number of soldiers who will be issued clothing during a week.

  • Maintain inventory of clothing items stocked and requests merchandise daily from the warehouse if the back-stock amounts are depleted.

  • Issue soldiers clothing items based on their size.

  • Ensure the clothing items are on hand and in the proper place for issues.

  • Ensure that the assigned CIIP Issue Station or the Night Room is always stocked, ready for issues. Daily/Weekly requests clothing items needed from the warehouse and accurately submits the request at COB on the designated workday.

  • Cross-train to be full capable to issue or exchange any clothing item in the soldiers’ Clothing Bag.

  • Collect Issue forms making sure the Soldier’s name, SSAN and clothing item sizes are filled out and legible.

  • Collect issue forms and turns them into the designated location prior to leaving at the end of their assigned shift.

  • Interface with the Drill Sergeants to ensure a smooth operation on process soldiers through the CIIP or the Night Room once they arrive to be issued clothing or exchange clothing items.

  • Work as a team member and fills in at any issue station in the CIIP during the issue process.

  • Perform other duties as assigned to assist in the operation and upkeep of the CIIP.

  • Advise supervisor about inconsistent or defective clothing items and clothing items discovered during the fitting and alteration process of the female soldiers.

  • Maintain a clean and neat work area at all times.

  • Assist in the disposal of recyclable materials when called to assist.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED certificate

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Possess training or experience in the supply field as it relates to storage, inventory, issue, and receipt of clothing or equipment.

  • Ability to handle stress and work well under pressure.

  • Possess Interpersonal and people skills.

  • Possess Listening, Oral and Written Communication skills.

  • Ability to multi-task.

  • Possess organizational skills teambuilding skills.

  • While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee may use repeated motions that include the arms, wrists, hands and/or fingers. The employee is occasionally required to walk, stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
