ChildServe has an opening for a Medical Billing Specialist II - Payment Poster. This team member will be supported by a tenured team, have opportunities for growth and be able to enjoy a hybrid work model. If you have 5 years of medical billing experience that includes payment posting and work with Medicaid and Medicare, APPLY TODAY!

What You'll Do

Revenue Cycle Management

  • Verify insurance eligibility and complete medical pre-authorization requests as required by payers for new and existing patients. Track and submit authorizations for additional visits, units, or time span when necessary. Verify charges, procedure codes, and diagnosis codes accurately.

  • Prepare and submit monthly / weekly billing to the correct payers within required timelines. Prepare monthly invoices for families and other pay sources. Includes form 1500s. Record and apply payments and/or adjustments in the billing system, reconciling batch totals. Review insurance payments to verify insurance companies are paying according to fee schedules. Work aged accounts to ensure reimbursement.

  • Document claim denial reason in practice management software according to reason codes provided on explanation of benefits forms. Review and assist in appealing unpaid claims and resolve payment discrepancies. Make cost-effective recommendations for adjustments and write-offs of non-collectible accounts.

  • Perform various collection actions including contacting patients and third-party payers.

  • Act as a resource for patients, families, providers, and payers regarding patient accounts and applicable regulations.

    Process Improvement

  • Train new and existing staff on processes and procedures as requested by supervisors. Create and maintain training manuals.

  • Participate in the design and implementation of new accounting procedures and processes for new and existing programs.

  • Make effective recommendations to revise existing accounting procedures to enhance quality and consistency of financial transactions.

  • Serve as back up and subject matter expert for other team members. Perform other duties as assigned.

    Schedule

General business hours, M – F, hybrid work is an option once trained.

What You'll Need

  • High School Diploma/GED

  • Associates degree in accounting, Business Management, or Healthcare related field, preferred.

  • Five years of successful medical billing experience required, working with complex claims and with both professional institutional claims and MCOs. Experience across medical service lines preferred.

  • Prefer experience in developing processes regarding medical billing and training others.

  • Prefer broader work experience in Accounts Receivable processes.

  • Ability to communicate effectively in reading, writing, and speaking the English language.
