Description

We are offering an opportunity for an Accounting Manager/Supervisor with manufacturing industry experience based in Houston, Texas. The primary role involves overseeing the monthly accounting close process, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, and managing the Accounts Payable team. The job function is in the telecom industry, where you will be based at our workplace.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the monthly accounting close process and ensure all accounting records are maintained accurately

• Conduct analytical reviews of monthly operating results

• Prepare, review, and approve journal entries and account reconciliations

• Ensure the timely production of monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial reporting schedules

• Implement and maintain processes to improve the cash applications, close, and reporting cycles

• Conduct proper analytical review of operations from a balance sheet, income statement, bookings, and cash flow perspective

• Support external financial audits

• Manage the Accounts Payable team and ensure efficient operation

• Complete ad hoc reporting requirements and data analytics

• Train and manage general accounting staff

• Utilize key skills such as Accounting Functions, Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Auditing, Infor, Month End Close, and Financial Statement preparation and analysis.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required, Professional accounting certification (CPA, CMA, etc.) is preferred combined with 5+ years accounting experience in a manufacturing environment. 2+ years previous experience in a supervisory role within an accounting department is required.

• Comprehensive understanding and practical experience in managing accounting functions

• Proven expertise in handling Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Familiarity with auditing procedures and principles

• Experience with Infor software or other similar accounting software

• Ability to manage Month End Close operations effectively

• Proficiency in Month-end Close Activities, including Month-end Financials, Month-end Journal Entries, and Month-end Reports

• Demonstrated skill in Monthly Account Reconciliation and Monthly Accruals

• Proven ability to prepare and analyze Financial Statements

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective team collaboration

• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines

• Advanced problem-solving abilities to handle complex accounting issues

• Proficiency in MS Excel and other MS Office applications
