Michael Baker International Geotechnical Engineering Design Associate in Hamilton, New Jersey

Michael Baker International has a unique opportunity for qualified Geotechnical Engineering Associate candidates with 0-2 years of geotechnical engineering experience to join the Geotechnical Department located in our Hamilton, NJ location. The successful candidate will work in applying geotechnical engineering techniques, procedures and principles on a variety of projects while supporting our project team and client base that we service on a local, national, and international basis. Typically, our projects involve supporting our clients within the Transportation, Commercial Development, Industrial and Energy market sectors.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Prepare geotechnical field exploration and laboratory testing programs.
Perform analyses for design of shallow and deep foundations, earth retaining structures, and slope stabilization systems.
Prepares geotechnical reports detailing subsurface investigations, foundation recommendations, construction monitoring and quality assurance/control phases of work and other field / laboratory studies.
Monitor geotechnical drilling and perform site visits, report findings to more experienced Engineers and/or Project Managers.
Assists Project Managers and more experienced Engineers in ensuring that task and project schedules and budgets are met.

PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, Master's preferred with a focus on Geotechnical Engineering
EIT highly desired
0 - 2 years of Geotechnical Design experience
Experience with NJDOT projects is a plus
Strong analytical and technical report writing skills, including numerical analysis using spreadsheets.
Ability to be self-motivated and to research and troubleshoot problems as they arise.
MS Office suite and familiar with geotechnical related commercial software.

COMPENSATION

The approximate compensation range for this position is $67,000 to $80,000. This compensation range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting.
