Description of Work Unit

Founded in 1870, Colorado State University is among the nation’s leading research universities and enrolls approximately 32,000 undergraduate, graduate, and professional students. The goal of the Department of Economics is to build a learning community that supports the intellectual development and professional aspirations of both students and faculty. Our undergraduate and graduate programs offer courses that cover an unusually wide range of economic thought, including neoclassical economics, Keynesian economics, institutional economics, Marxian economics and feminist economics. We want our students to become critical thinkers who understand the debates about economic methodology and policy as well as the techniques of economic analysis.

Position Summary

The Department of Economics at Colorado State University invites applications for the positions of Continuing, Contract, or Adjunct Assistant Professor or Instructor to teach courses in microeconomics, macroeconomics, econometrics, and/or various applied fields, as positions become available. These are non-tenure track positions.

Required Job Qualifications

  • Demonstrated commitment to and evidence of excellence in teaching.

  • College level teaching experience.

  • Continuing, Contract, or Adjunct Assistant Professors:

  • Ph.D. in Economics.

  • Instructors:

  • A Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of two years of graduate course work in economics.

Preferred Job Qualifications

For Instructors:

  • Master’s degree in economics. Preference is given to individuals who have passed comprehensive theory examinations, who have taken the relevant field courses, and who have a record of excellence in teaching.
